Ben Stanton lives the american dream. Senior manager at a music publishing company. A wonderful family. And he has his music, at least on a limited basis. The guitar and his favorite instrument, the cello, have always been old friends, touchstones to a life dreamed, the life of a musician. But when his daughter died five years ago, he gave up playing. Truth was, he gave up long before.

One night in Harvard Square he meets a street performer named Kendall, so talented and transcendent he can’t help but be stirred, his latent desires piqued. The next day he loses his position at the company. He then returns to Harvard Square in search of Kendall, in search of an authentic path, in hopes of remembering how to play again.

Play was a finalist in the 2013 Acclaim Scripts Film Contest, a semifinalist in the 2013 Screenplay Festival contest, and a semifinalist in the 2013 Filmmakers International Screenwriting Contest.
