Two Clones in a Room

I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of library.”

– Jorge Luis Borges

In this one-act play, William and Victor are trapped in a room. They are clones of two great psychologists brought back to cure an anonymous person’s trypophobia—the fear or disgust of densely packed holes. If they can cure this phobia, they will be set free.

They try various treatment strategies on other clones without success. Fed up with captivity, Victor escapes, leaving William behind. Seeking to win his freedom, William works with another clone to cure the phobia so that he can leave the room and find his friend.
